Ice at Santa Monica

When: November 3, 2016 - January 16, 2017

Where: Corner of 5th Street and Arizona Avenue, Santa Monica 90401

Enjoy an Icy event as the ICE returns to Santa Monica for the holiday season. Downtown Santa Monica will once again take exciting to a new level as they transform the corner of 5th Street and Arizona Avenue into an Icecapade!

City of  Santa Monica Official Holiday Tree Lighting Party

When: December 1st, 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Where: 1300 Block Third Street Promenade (just north of Santa Monica Blvd.), Santa Monica 90401

Take your family out for a night to remember. Santa, Mrs. Claus, and City officials will officially light the Santa Monica Holiday Tree on the Third Street Promenade. This wonderful event will keep you and your little ones happy and entertained as Santa Monica shows off their most talented vocalists while the kids create their own letters to Santa at the craft station.

Santa Monica Rep Presents "A Christmas Carol"

When: December 3rd, 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Where: 1130 Lincoln Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90403

Santa Monica Rep brings you Charles Dickens’ classic holiday ghost story, A Christmas Carol, directed by Jen Bloom at the Miles Memorial Playhouse. You may bring your brave kids ages 8 and up to see this event until December 18, There will be an opening night performance on December 2 and join the cast of A Christmas Carol for some fun caroling and eggnog.

David Sedaris’ “The Santaland Diaries”

If you love fun, entertainment, and costumes, then this one is for you. Watch Patrick Censoplano brings you joy in this funny one-man play about the author’s adventure as an unemployed writer. Indeed, the holiday season can bring both the best and worst in all us and see his story as takes a job as an elf at Macy’s department store in New York City.  Directed by internationally acclaimed director Chris DeCarlo top it off with awesome holiday costumes by Ashley Hayes and James Cooper's Christmas themed set.

39th Annual Santa Monica-Venice Christmas Run

When: December 10th, 7:00 am - 11:00 am

Where:  Barnard Way (near the intersection of Ocean Park Blvd.), Santa Monica 90401

This annual event has maintained its status as a highly popular local run and has been an event to look forward to during holiday season. The Santa Monica-Venice Christmas Run is Los Angeles' largest holiday running event and served as a great fundraiser. The race starts at Santa Monica Beach on Barnard Way to Venice Boardwalk. Join the legendary 5k and 10k Christmas Run and be a part of a holiday history.

Enchanted: Forest of Lights

When: November 25th - January 8, 7:00 am - 11:00 am

Where: Descanso Gardens

Experience lights as you never have before. This interactive, nighttime program features a one-mile walk through 10 distinct lighting displays with eight illuminated installations around the whole area of Descanso Gardens. Purchased your timed tickets in advance as they vary by date though they usually extend from 5pm to 9:30pm.
